You will need:
Scraps of felt
Scissors
Needle and matching threads
Sewing machine (optional)
Written instructions and photos are below, or scroll to the end for the video tutorial.
STEP 1
Download the pattern pieces template using the link below, then, from felt, cut:
1 x egg back
1 x egg pocket
5 x petals, and
2 x leaves

STEP 2
Thread your needle with a double thread and use a continuous running stitch to connect the petal pieces to form a circle, as shown in the photos below.

STEP 3
Gently pull the thread to gather the petals into a neat flower shape. Add a few small stitches at the center to secure the shape.

STEP 4
Position the leaves at the back, and securely stitch in place.

STEP 5
Fold the straight edge of the pocket over by approximately 1cm (3/8 inch). Pin in place, then stitch it down either by hand or with a sewing machine.
Don't tie off the thread yet—you can use it to attach the flower to the pocket in a later step.

STEP 6
With the right side facing up, place the egg pocket on top of the egg and pin it in place. Stitch around the entire edge using a blanket stitch or similar, either by hand or with a sewing machine.
TIP: Start and finish your stitching where the flower will be placed to neatly conceal any overlapping stitches.

STEP 7
Securely handstitch the flower in the desired position, making sure to sew only through the pocket layer and not all layers. Tie off the ends securely.

Your Easter egg pouch is now complete!

These adorable pouches are perfect for tucking in a sweet treat like a small, wrapped chocolate and gifting to friends or family. They also make cute place settings for your Easter table. If you’d like to make them extra special, you can even slip in a little note for a fun Easter surprise.
