This beginner-friendly sewing pattern guides you through creating a set of four quilted zip pouches. Designed with both functionality and style in mind, these pouches are perfect for protecting electronic devices, books, and other items from bumps and scratches. Whether you need a Kindle sleeve, book sleeve, or a protective cover for your tablet or small laptop, this pattern is ideal for you.


Versatile and Protective


The sizes have been created to be versatile and to fit a range of electronic devices and/or books. As a guide, here’s what can fit in each pouch:


Large – Small laptop (approx. 13 inch), hardcover book, or 2-3 large novels

Medium – Tablet or large novel

Small – Kindle Paperwhite, older style Kindles or small novel

Extra Small – Kindle 6”

Dimensions


The finished dimensions of the pouches available with this pattern are:


  • Extra Small: 14.5cm wide x 19cm tall (5 x 7 ½ inches), Zip opening is12cm (4 ¾ inches)

  • Small: 17.5cm wide x 21cm tall (7 x 8 ¼ inches), Zip opening is 15cm (6 inches)

  • Medium:  21cm wide x 27.5cm tall (8 ¼ x 10 ¾ inches), Zip opening is 18.5cm (7¼ inches)

  • Large: 26cm wide x 32.5cm tall (10 x 12 ¾ inches), Zip opening is 23cm (9 inches)



Thick and Soft Feel

Materials Required:


- Cotton fabric for the exterior and lining

- Polyester wadding (200gsm recommended)

- Zippers

- Coordinating thread

- Tape measure

- Ruler and removable fabric marker

- Fabric scissors or rotary cutter

- Pins or clips

- Sewing machine

 

Approximate Sewing Time:


Each pouch takes about 45 minutes to 1 hour to complete, depending on your sewing experience and the size of the pouch.
